From Gadget Magic to NXT GEN

Our story began in 2013, when founder Jon Thorpe opened Gadget Magic in Leigh-on-Sea. After working in other repair shops and helping them become successful businesses, Jon decided it was time to build something of his own: an independent shop that combined practical repair expertise with a personal approach to customer service.

As technology evolved, Jon developed his repair skills alongside the demands of running the shop. That experience shaped a practical approach: investigate the fault carefully and help customers judge whether a repair is worthwhile.

In March 2025, Gadget Magic became NXT GEN. The new name and visual identity reflect the business’s focus on phones, tablets, computers and consoles, built on the experience gained since 2013. Personal service and the craft of repair remain central to the shop.
