BEFORE YOU BOOK
MacBook & iMac repair questions
How do I find my Mac model and year?
If your Mac starts, choose the Apple menu and then About This Mac. Send us the model name and year shown. If it won’t start, contact us for help identifying it. Apple’s model identification guide explains the available methods.
How much will my Mac repair cost?
The cost depends on the exact model, fault and parts available. We confirm a quote after assessment. A £25 diagnostic charge applies where the fault needs investigation and is deducted from the repair total if you proceed. Online repair prices are subject to changes in parts costs.
Can I choose a genuine Apple MacBook screen?
Where we can source a suitable genuine Apple screen for your model, we can quote for it alongside an aftermarket option where available. Availability and features vary by model, and we explain the options before you choose.
How long does a MacBook or iMac repair take?
Turnaround depends on the fault, testing required and parts availability. We give you an expected timescale once we have assessed the device and confirmed the repair. Contact us first if you need your Mac back for a particular date.
Should I back up my Mac before bringing it in?
Yes, make a current backup if the Mac is working and you can do so. Tell us if you have important files without a backup, especially if the device has storage or startup problems. Do not send passwords through the booking form; we will explain any access needed for testing.
Are you an Apple Authorised Service Provider?
No. NXT GEN is an independent repair business. If you want to use AppleCare or an Apple warranty, check your service options with Apple first. Genuine parts availability does not mean Apple authorisation.
Can you repair older MacBooks and iMacs?
Ask us with the model and year. We assess whether parts are available and whether the likely repair cost makes sense for the device and your needs. We can also discuss model-compatible upgrades where appropriate.
